Walkable Adventures

Leave the Car Parked All Week

One of the best things about Cedars 42 is that you can leave the car parked all week. Nearly everything Breckenridge has to offer is within a short walk — or a free bus ride — from your front door.

From Your Door

  • 1 minute — Quicksilver SuperChair. Walk between units #19 and #21, cross the wooden bridge, and you’re at the lift.
  • 4–5 minutes — Main Street shops, restaurants, and breweries. A gentle downhill stroll into the heart of town.
  • 6 minutes — Breckenridge Brewery. Walk straight down for craft beer and pub fare.
  • 10 minutes — Stephen C. West Ice Arena and the Free Ride bus stop for longer excursions.

BreckFree Ride

The free town shuttle stops right across the street from Cedars. It runs year-round and connects you to every corner of Breckenridge — no car, no parking fees, no hassle. Use it to reach the gondola, grocery stores, or the other side of Main Street when your legs need a rest after skiing.

Skiing & Winter

Peak 9 & Beyond

Cedars 42 sits at the base of Peak 9, home to the Quicksilver SuperChair and the Beaver Run SuperChair. From here you have direct access to groomed cruisers, steeper pitches, and a terrain park — greens to blacks, all within a one-minute walk.

Breckenridge Ski Resort spans five interconnected peaks with nearly 3,000 acres of terrain. The ski school meets at the base of Peak 9, making it easy to drop off beginners while the rest of the group heads for the high alpine bowls above Peak 8.

Nearby Resorts

  • Keystone Resort — 20 minutes. Night skiing, three mountains, family-friendly terrain.
  • Copper Mountain — 25 minutes. Naturally divided terrain; less crowded weekdays.
  • Vail — 45 minutes via I-70. The legendary Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin.

Winter Beyond the Slopes

  • Snowshoeing — Baker’s Tank Loop through old-growth forest. Trailhead accessible from town.
  • Cross-Country Skiing — Gold Run Nordic Center with groomed classic and skate tracks.
  • Sledding — Carter Park has a free sledding hill perfect for families.
  • Nordic, Fat-Biking & Snowshoe Trails — 7 minutes from the property.
  • Tubing & Sleigh Rides — 15 minutes away at various outfitters.

Walk-To Après-Ski

After your last run, ski back to the unit, stash your gear, and stroll to one of these favorites:

  • Breckenridge Brewery — The original. Cold pints and hearty food, six minutes on foot.
  • Modis Rooftop — Elevated cocktails with panoramic mountain views.
  • Crêpes à la Cart — Sweet and savory crêpes on Main Street. A Breck institution.

Summer Activities

Hiking, Biking & More

When the snow melts, Breckenridge transforms into a playground of wildflower meadows, alpine lakes, and sun-drenched trails — many accessible directly from the property.

Hiking & Biking

  • Burro Trail & Wheeler Pass — Step out the door and onto the trail network. Hike or bike directly from the property.
  • Quandary Peak (14,265’) — Colorado’s most accessible fourteener, a 15-minute drive. Non-technical summit with stunning panoramic rewards.
  • Mohawk Lakes — Spectacular backcountry hike through waterfalls and old mine ruins to a turquoise alpine lake.
  • Rec Path Biking — Paved paths connect Breckenridge to Frisco, Copper Mountain, and beyond — all the way to Vail.

On the Water

  • Maggie Pond — Stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking right in the heart of town.
  • Fly Fishing — The Blue River runs through Breckenridge with gold-medal trout waters. Guides pick up directly at Cedars.

More Summer Adventures

  • Epic Discovery — Free gondola to the top of Peak 8 for alpine coasters, zip lines, climbing wall, and hiking trails.
  • Breckenridge Golf Club — Jack Nicklaus–designed course at 9,300 feet. The thin air adds distance to every shot.
  • Wildlife — Spot moose in Cucumber Gulch at dawn or dusk. A wetland preserve just outside town.
